Sometimes, there are moments that let you know this is just what you’re supposed to be doing. Like everything, signs, opportunities, and people cross your path and it might seem coincidental.
It isn’t. Take the chance. Everything that happens leads you to what you’re supposed to do, and not taking the chance is what makes people bitter and unhappy for other people. Stop spending time on social media; stop looking at your phone; look outside at the trees or buildings or whatever it is outside your window. Look up at the sky. Let your mind wander. It’s the best thing you can do for figuring out what you want to do.
My first job out of college was as a insurance examiner for the State of Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance Agency. At the height of the recession and serious influx of calls, that meant I spent each day from 8-6:30 answering phones from unemployed people. Every once in a while, someone would call who was super friendly and patient, and even wanted to talk. One man called and talked all about his daughter, an Occupational Therapist, who traveled the country and world speaking about ergonomics. I’d never heard of Occupational Therapy. and little did I know, the quest for OT started there.
Doing is so much better than thinking, wondering, dreaming. Dream while you do and things will fall into place.
