I’m Katie, an OTR/L writing about the journey from logistics to occupational therapy. After wanting to become an OT for five years after discovering it, I took the plunge and quit my previous career to start the pre-OT process. Over the next couple of years I went from working for a fast-paced logistics company, to heading out to LA for a while, to coming back and changing just about everything in my life.
Starting out, I searched OTs I knew peripherally (or not even kind of, on Linked In) to talk to, ask questions, and to share my excitement about the profession. This blog is to do something I love – write; to get all of the OT tips I collect in one place; and to hopefully ease/inspire someone else to embark on the OT journey – or at least find mine a bit interesting. For me, writing is a way of keeping my path intentional, reflecting on the experiences, and making some sense of the journey.
Thanks for stopping by.
